HPE111 - Living with Health

Mercer's options for distance learners include Telecourses. Students learn independently by watching video segments, reading materials, completing assignments and taking tests. Faculty and students communicate by mail, phone, e-mail, and in person by appointment.

You can access your course 4 ways:

Warning: Distance Learning is not for everyone. Successful distance learners are self motivated and committed to investing time in their course, assignment completion and study. Distance learners should plan to attend the orientations.

HPE111 Orientation (Mandatory Orientation) - You only need to attend one session.
Wednesday, June 13, 6pm in CM110

HPE111 Syllabus - Please note, you will need to see your professor if you have not attended the mandatory orientation. HPE111 is not an online course.

MCCC Cable TV Network
The video segments air on Comcast channel 26, which is on each cable TV system or Verizon FIOS channel 20 in Mercer County. Subscribers in Trenton, Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence, East Windsor, Hightstown, Washington Township, West Windsor, Princeton Borough, Princeton Township, Pennington, and Hopewell Township can watch the MCCC Cable TV Network and Verizon FIOS channel 20, included as part of the basic program service area of each TV system.

Course Expectations
Taking a telecourse requires that you watch the TV segments. You may watch at scheduled broadcast times, purchase from MCCC's bookstore, or borrow DVD's overnight at the MCCC Library. You must take tests and complete assignments specified in the course syllabus. A letter will be sent to you in the mail with the dates and times of course meetings and orientations. You must attend orientation to obtain your course materials. If you cannot attend orientation you must contact your professor prior to the start of class.

Testing
All HPE111 sections require tests which must be completed at the Academic Testing Center by a specific date. See HPE111 Testing Schedule for testing dates. Some sections of HPE111 require computerized testing at the Academic Testing Center. Please see HPE111 Computerized Testing Instructions for important information regarding the computerized tests for HPE111.
