Adult Basic Education & General Educational Development Programs
Welcome
Mercer County Community College offers Adult Basic Education & General Educational
Development (ABE/GED) classes to adults who have not completed high school. This program
provides an alternate way for adults to improve their basic skills, prepare
for, and earn a high school diploma in an adult environment. Classes are
offered in both English and Spanish.
These classes will prepare an individual in the following subject areas:
- Language Arts, Writing
- Social Studies
- Science
- Language Arts, Reading
- Mathematics
Once you pass the NJ State GED
exam, the actual diploma is issued by the New Jersey State Department of
Education and states that you have met all requirements to be a high school
graduate. The diploma is recognized by many employers and colleges as being
equivalent to a high school diploma.
Who is eligible?
If you are at least 16 years
of age, you can enter the program. Minors must complete a "Certificate
of Consent " form, which can be obtained at the ABE/GED office.
How do I enroll in classes?
